Data deletion

How to ask us to delete your NU Guide account and the data linked to it, what we delete, and what we must keep.

Last updated: 20 September 2026

1. What we store about you

  • Your name, email address or mobile number, and the sign-in provider identifier (Google, Facebook or phone) we received when you signed in.
  • Your study profile (department, year, session) if you chose to enter it.
  • Your payment requests (bKash TrxID, amount, plan, approve/reject decision) and which subjects you unlocked.
  • We never receive your Google or Facebook password or your phone password in plain text, and we never store your bKash PIN, card or wallet credentials.

2. How to request deletion

Message us through the contact page from the same email address or registered mobile number you use to sign in, with the subject line “Data deletion request”.

  • If you are not sure which email or mobile number you used, tell us your name and the TrxID of any payment you sent, so we can locate the account.
  • We reply to confirm we have received the request, then complete the deletion within 30 days.

3. What we delete

  • Your account, your study profile and your unlocked-access records are removed, or kept only in a form that no longer identifies you.
  • Any active session is signed out on every device.

4. What we must keep

We keep the minimum records needed to meet our legal and accounting duties and to prevent fraud — for example, a payment decision and its date — for as long as the law requires, and then delete them. Once your account is deleted, these records no longer identify you as an active user.

5. Signed in with Facebook?

You can also remove NU Guide from your Facebook apps at any time: Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites. That revokes “Sign in with Facebook” for our app. It does not by itself delete your NU Guide account, so also email us as above if you want the account deleted.
